Course Summary:The current state of the economy is precarious. While some are ringing the alarm bells, others point to record growth in the stock market as a sign of stability. What you need to know is that, despite all of the noise, the state of the industry is strong, and owning your own practice is still the best and most financially lucrative option for dentists. In this presentation we will talk about trends in practice ownership, practice values, and industry consolidation as well as emphasize what young doctors hear far too seldomly, which is that they can’t afford NOT to own their own practice.Course Objectives:1. Discuss the current trends in private practice ownership2. Provide an update on pediatric practice valuations, in both private (doctor-to-doctor) sales and DSO sales3. Course Summary:Every practice owner has some concern that an unforeseen catastrophic event could negatively impact the operations and value of their business. As doctors get closer to retirement, the desire to address these concerns increases as most doctors are heavily reliant on the proceeds from the sale of their practice in order to reach their financial goals. The good news is that dentistry, and pediatric dentistry specifically, is a very low risk industry. The bad news is that an unexpected event such as death or disability can severely impair the value of your largest asset (your practice) or even make it unsellable. Proper planning and structuring can alleviate a lot of those risks. Unfortunately, we see that most doctors fail to plan and instead roll the dice, hoping for the best. In this presentation, we will discuss your options for mitigating these risks and also how you can determine which options make the most sense for you. Course Objectives:1. Discuss ways to reduce the risk to practice owners of unexpected and catastrophic events2. Compare the pros and cons of each of these options3. Evaluate which alternative may be right for your practice

Many pediatric dentists use composite resin every day in practice. However, very little advanced training in the use of these materials, specifically for pediatric dentists, is available.
